("hero of God".) (Daniel 8:16; Daniel 9:21; Luke 1:19; Luke 1:26). Thus, Gabriel explains to Daniel the appalling prophecy concerning the ram and he-goat, and cheers him with the prophecy of Messiah's advent within the "70 weeks," in answer to his prayer; and in New Testament announces to Zacharias the glad tidings of the birth of John the forerunner, and of Messiah Himself to the Virgin (Luke 1:19; Luke 1:26).
