Catholic Women's League

Resource Toolbox

A non-political English organization for the promotion of religious and intellectual activities, and social work; for ensuring the representation of Catholic interests on public bodies; and for the formation and collective expression of Catholic opinion. There is a Junior League for girls of 14 and upwards. The Catholic Women's League engages in many active social works, such as infant welfare, girls' clubs and hotels, and participates in the Guild of Women in Business; Our Lady's Catechists, and the Union of Catholic Mothers. In Palestine it has opened a weaving-school for Catholic Arab girls. Internationally, the Catholic Women's League of England and Wales is part of a world-wide organization, consisting of about 55 Leagues corresponding to 26 nationalities, designed to place the organized energies of Catholic women at the service of the Church, for the defense of Catholic principles.
