a German doctor of theology and member of the consistory in Speyer, was born in 1796 at Mussbach, in Bavaria. In 1820 he was minister in Ungstein, in 1827 he was appointed minister of the French Reformed Church at Erlangen, in 1847 he was called to Munich, and was finally made pastor in Speyer, where he died in 1862. He wrote, Philosophie und Christenthum, oder Wissen und Glauben (Mannheim, 1833, 2d ed.): Predigten uber ausgewahlte Texte (Erlangen, 1830): Stimnmen der Reformation u. der Reformatoren an die Fü rsten u. Volker dieser Zeit (ibid. 1831): De Blasio Pascale Veritatis et Divinitatis Religionis Christianoe Vindioe (ibid. 1833), pt. 1, 2: Jesus Christus gestern u. heute u. derselbe auch in Ewigkeit (Munich, 1850), sermons.
