1. A resident of Kirjath-jearim, who kept the Ark of the Covenant in his house during the twenty years immediately following its restoration by the Philistines ( 1Samuel 7:1 1Chronicles 13:7 ). In 2Samuel 6:3,4 , Gibeah is given as his home. 2. The second son of Jesse ( 1Samuel 16:8 1Chronicles 2:13 ). He was one of the three sons of Jesse who followed Saul to fight the Philistines in the valley of Elah (1Samuel 17:13 ). 3. A son of Saul ( 1Chronicles 8:33 ), who was killed in the battle of Gilboa while fighting against the Philistines (1Samuel 31:2 1Chronicles 10:2 ). He is also mentioned in the genealogical list of Benjamites living in Gibeon (1Chronicles 9:39 ). See also Ben Abinadab .
