Steep road leading from the plain of Jericho to the hilly country around Jerusalem. It was a part of the boundary between Judah and Benjamin (Joshua 15:7 , 18:17 ). The name refers to the redness of the material of which the road is made. It is now called Tala' at ed-Dam.
