Sabora of the second generation (Halevy, "Dorot ha-Rishonim," 3:26) principal of the Academy of Pumbedita (520-540) while R. ' Ena was filling a similar position at Sura. According to Grä tz, these two scholars committed the Talmud to writing but no further details are known concerning Simuna.
