2. mostly intr., bend back, return, ταύτῃ λῆγον ἀ. ἐς τὰ εἴρηται τὸ ὄρος Hdt. 2.8; ἡ περιφορὰ ἐπ' ἀρχὴν ἀ. Arist. de An. 407a30, cf. Pl. Phd. 72b; πάλιν ἀ. Arist. GC 337a6, Men. Sam. 341, etc. walk up and down, Str. 3.4.16, Plu. 2.796d, D.L. 2.139. in Logic, of the terms of a proposition, to be converted, Arist. APo. 72b36, de An. 407a28. ἀνακάμπτων, name of a throw of the dice, Eub. 57.

Thayer's Expanded Definition

ἀνακάμπτω: future ἀνακάμψω; 1 aorist ἀνέκαμψα; to bend back, turn back. In the N. T. (as often in secular authors; in the Sept. equivalent to שׁוּב) intransitive, to return: Matthew 2:12; Luke 10:6 (where the meaning is, 'your salutation shall return to you, as if not spoken'); Acts 18:21; Hebrews 11:15.
